During my interview process at Pandora Radio, I had the opportunity to showcase my design skills through a project that tested my understanding of design principles, marketing strategies, and various design applications. The task was to create a web banner ad for a fictional laser eye company, using a provided photo and copy. Not only did I fulfill their requirements by designing a visually appealing ad, but I also went above and beyond by incorporating interactive elements using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
For the first version of the banner ad, I added an engaging hover effect. When users hovered over the image, it dynamically came into focus, creating a captivating visual experience. Upon rolling off the image, it smoothly transitioned back to its original state. This interactive feature added an extra layer of depth and interactivity to the ad, making it more memorable and engaging for potential customers.
In addition to the hover effect, I also implemented a sheen effect for the call-to-action (CTA) button in another version of the banner ad. When users rolled over the CTA button, it exhibited a subtle sheen effect, enhancing its visual appeal and drawing attention to the desired action. These interactive elements demonstrated my proficiency in using JavaScript and CSS to create engaging user experiences and showcased my creativity and attention to detail.
Overall, this project served as a testament to my design skills, ability to understand client requirements, and my aptitude for incorporating interactive elements to enhance user engagement. It was a valuable opportunity to demonstrate my expertise and passion for design, leaving a lasting impression on the Pandora Radio team during the interview process which lead me to getting hired.
